MAF (mass air flow meter) sits between the air filter housing and engine,looks like a plastic or matal tube with pipes attatched normally.

If it does it again,have a look at the wiring connector on the MAF as it may be loose or dirty/corroded.

also check all pipes/hoses in the area.

i have a EOBD fault code reader,it`s only basic though but you`re welcome to plug it in if you want,it may point you in the right direction. i`m in oldham also.

Does the Engine Management Light, light up when you turn the ignition on?

If like doesn't stay on, then there won't be any fault codes recorded/stored..

If the MAF(Mass air flow)sensor is starting to fail, it won't put the eml on

If the van plays about again, unplug the maf plug, and drive it, if near normal performance comes back, then its faulty..

emg light comes on when ignition is switched on, goes out as soon as car starts, no loss of power at all today, so hope alls ok

Good chance its the MAF then, try Rhubarbs trick if it happens again.
