I could fill now that and the same again There are six forty foot containers, seven twenty foot containers all rammed with gear, that’s without what’s in the barns/workshops and parked in the yard.On top of that there are twenty four stables and all of swmbo's horsey gear.If/when I move there needs to be an option four

After getting loads of my tools stolen last year I just buy the minimal that I need to get the job done and nothing decent unless I have to.

Sorry to hear that, it must really hurt. But I wouldn't let that prevent you from having your own tool collection.

Can you get more secure storage? Or add cameras or alarm systems etc? My place is very secure and I have alarms / motion sensor cameras for peace of mind. A German shepherd is the best security too Don't let the actions of a few scroats hold you back.

My name is Robert. I Am addicted to tools.
I bought my first , socket set, about 40 years age, was 12yo. It was a 3/8 and 1/4 , Kamasa set in a green metal box.

Have spent my working life as a Diesel mechanic, working on tractors and machinery, plant, boats. I am always looking for or buying tools, to make my job easier. Hand tools are my thing. Cordless / power tools , although I use them a lot, don't hold the same appeal.
When I was younger, I had no interest , in old tools. Nowadays, I collect old adjustable spanners, any old Stanley knives, I find or any decent quality old spanners.
I work out of a company van. When I last moved into a new van, I had a big sort through of my tools carried. I had around 350 sockets, 12 point, 6 point, impact, standard , deep and semi deep. Ranging from 1/4" dr 4mm up to 1" dr 65mm.

In my case, the answer is no, you can never have enough tools.

I now have to move tools to get to the tool I want every single time I want to do a job.

Had to drag out a crappy Performance Power table saw from the depths of the garage yesterday to do a quick job for SWMBO. Pretty big, I tweaked my back just getting it out. Then I had to set up a leaky tarp in the peeing rain. Saw's gone back in stuffed just inside the door.

Currently on the missing list ; Fakita 18V multi tool, Fakita 18V sabre saw, 185mm Evolution skilsaw which I really needed today. Another job not done

I am at the point I have most of the tools I'll ever need but they're just not accessible or in the case of my lathe not set up.

Gets pretty depressing having no workshop.

Thanks. Stolen from work, I no longer work there. I'm now out of the motor trade apart from a little auto upholstery I do from home so no longer need all my tools.An added bonus was I got a reasonable insurance payout and it saved me selling most of them.Home workshop is secure.

Joe most scrotes of any standing will know of a nasty ten second dog canceler .

When I had my own alarm business etc. I had a landlord see all his Crimbo stock walk out the back door whilst he went to the races for the day , he was always bragging no one could get by his two Dobermans

Dogs are only good for noise if they haven't already been silenced by drugged raw met given an hour or so earlier ...had that happen as well .

I recently started doing upholstery for my cars so now there's more tools I'm buying. I did manage to stop myself from buying the best scissors though.

I won't pay anyone to do anything for me if there's any way for me to do it. I bought air conditioning tools which don't make sense to buy with the cost of them but I got annoyed at professionals. I took it to a professional first but they gave a completely incorrect diagnosis and I even took it there three times.

My biggest problem is storage, not necessarily the space but the boxes and shelving. I look at the price and think it's too much yet I buy all the nice tools.

My name is Peter: I been a motor mechanic for 42yrs and owned my own garage for 39.5yrs - I got so many sockets - it is unreal - just too many to count.

I clearing my parents house out at the moment - and I weighing up my Dads big set of AF whitworth ones - the big huge ones to use in a press.
