The Amazon drivers in Essex aren't British let's put it that way. For many, they cannot even speak much English.

Where he was heading is a place called Foulness, an island jutting out in the mud flats of the Thames estuary.
There's one road in and out. It's controlled by the MOD but there's a few farms on there.

The route he is trying to take is an ancient old natural causeway in the mud flats - barely passable on foot, and a couple of kilometres out into the mud to get back to land. He was literally having to head out to sea. if I remember correctly the path was marked by stones or timbers driven down into the mud long ago.

The first got himself impressively deep before he got stuck, I dragged him out with the Surf but he rolled into my front bumper and bent the brackets slightly. No real thanks or apologies.
The next one to do it I didn't bother going out to help.

There is a footpath that runs alongside our property & I found a foreign delivery driver trying to drive up it a week or so ago. I stopped him, but he still carried on trying, both I & the neighbours told him to reverse out, but he refused, either had no mirrors or couldn’t reverse on them. He eventually realised the path was too narrow & did a 100 point turn in someone gateway. He kept blaming his satnav, but when the path was so narrow he couldn’t open the doors, you would have thought “no, give this a miss”

When satnavs were a new posh thing, someone took delivery of their brand new beemer and drove it into the rhine, because the satnav didn't tell them it was a ferry crossing. They drove blithely on despite the ferry being on the other side of the river...

Near to us, there is a turning off of the main road. After you make the turn, there is a level crossing (railway) about 30 metres in. 15 metres beyond that, is a right turn.
Couple of years ago a youngish woman following the satnav turned off of the main road, then turned right..............onto the railway track ! This was in the middle of the day, so broad daylight. But the good bit was, she drove about 250 metres up the track !
Luckily a pedestrian saw her, and phoned the signal box for the phone on the crossing .
