Fortunately it seems to already have that fittedAlso stretch a 2" rubber O ring onto the bottom of quill, stops it banging back up into the casting on its return via the spring.
You need a proper drill with a quill lock, like my Progress 2G.Sometimes I need to bring the quill right down, then I want to manoeuvre a piece and it's a pain when the quill won't stay where I put it and springs back. I end up trying to hold the handle with my elbow until everything is positioned then slither my arm back until I can grab the handle while I turn the drill on with my other hand. Or I swear. That happens too.

What should I be looking for in respect of a drill vice, are there any that someone can recommend? I see Toolstation etc do them for about 20 will they suffice? Don't really need, but like the idea of the X y ones for ease of lining up the drill but they seem to have mixed feedback
