That would be Glen L plans? Yikes no, It was a Winter Wren from Devlin. I find G Ls constructon methods a bit antiquated on their boats. Dunno about camper plans.

Cant recall ever getting stung importing from china even over £100 recently.

USA and a few other places usually get stung, the key here is to build it in with the price. If dont get copped its a bonus.

No I plan to use every possible modern tool to make up for the lack of woodwork skills on my part

Back in '70, we used to build boats with: Jig saw, bench circular saw, power planer and assorted drills. Planer surfacers and spindle moulders were used to shape stock.
Now I have (amateur) Small planer/surfacer, band saw, routers, jig saw, a few circular saws and bench saw. Not a lot different. If a pro, there would be several CNC bits of kit.
Modern glues (epoxy) make it far easier. My little 15ft double ender has no screws or nails in its consruction. Back then, loads of brass or monal screws and nails, so the extra cost of the epoxy is offset.
