it’s actually from a UK supplier but it’s the generic Chinese bike that can be had on Ali.
It worked out almost the same cost when taking shipping, duty and vat into account on an Ali purchase.

They add up to exactly that. It’s a 13s7p pack for a nominal 48v and 29.4Ah (not my incorrectly stated 35Ah).

I did a test run with 3 x 4s RC packs so a little under voltage and even with me on (being a big guy) it was pulling about 30MPH.

Agreed, a write up would be appreciated. I've half a mind to do something similar, as the idea of cycling sounds good, except, well, uphill.

Would be very interested in where you sourced the bike. I really need to do something like this to get me out and about locally. I would be especially interested if I could use it on some of the farms. Would save me a lot of walking and extend my range!
I was out during lockdown and 'nipping' up a fairly long but moderate climb locally when I got passed by one of Queen's 'Fat Bottomed Girls' (my panniers are smaller
) - she didn't pass slowly either - her partner followed - I was glad to hear the motors running 
. Fair respect to her for being on the bike and absolutely brilliant but it really did bring home to me how much advantage a bit of electric assist can be.I wrecked myself on the road to Guisborough trying to catch a couple of chaps and finally caught them after three miles of undulations - again they were both on mountain e-bikes
Worth the effort if it gets more people on the roads on bikes.

I don't want to have a row over the legalities, what other people do is none of my business; so long as they harm no one or nothing, I don't care, but if I wanted to keep it legal, for me, is there a guide for UK rules?
