I love the quality of the fabrication you've put into this. It's something I'd love to progress to eventually.

Can I ask what tungsten, filler and amperage you're using?

It's all done with 200 amp r-tech,
1.6mm red tungsten and a gas lens,
mostly 1.6mm A15 filler rod, some 1mm filler,
no idea on amperage as this was all done on the foot pedal?

bit of an update,

finish off the top of the front 4 link area,
trim down the oversize brackets,
dust off the tube bender and make up a 1-5/8" cds tube to tie the brackets to the chassis,
add some fillets and plate the front of the brackets.

this steel plate simulates the seat back area,

so the rear proploop had to be layed back so as to not be inside the car,
also boxed upwards and welded into the upper tube to add some strength after cutting out most of the middle of the crossmember for the bottom part of the loop.

did you say welding is just a hobby for you ? (as well as producing custom work) shame I don't live closer, would be awsome to see it in the flesh.... have you ever worked out how many hours torch time you have racked up on this project ?

I suppose it is just a hobby, if you can call it that with a waiting list of other projects coming in?, my day job is building trade maintenance,
no idea on welding hours, i only keep tabs on total hours inc design/fabrication.

No updates yet Steve as i've got a few different tasks on the go at once, but none finished.
It's hard finding time between tea and talking b******s,
That and a beer induced weekend put me back a bit :drunk:

Update...

got a few jobs on the go, heres one thats finished,
decided to go with a rear anti-roll bar as with past experience found they help a car launch flatter on launch,

initially wanted to mount the bar above the axle with the link bars dropping down, due to various clearance problems the better option was to reverse it by mounting the bar to the axle.

some of the parts required,
delron turned to make bushes similar to half a urethane, cds tube, left and r/hand 3/8" rodends, 1/8" thick chromemoly blades, threaded bushes and mounting brackets.
