Of course, only After a few
Self sacrifice is an admirable personality trait.

I'm not sure but I suspect that you need a capping machine that supports the base of the bottle rather that grips the neck. Can I ask a question has anyone a solution .... do you bottle & cap your beers ..
I'm looking for a capper to cap the 35 ml clear glass aperitif bottles they don't have the second clamping lip that the beer bottles have .
Thanks for reminding me, I wished I'd done that last time. I've got a water meter on the tap out there which measures down to 100ml, so measuring cold water into the HLT is easy, but when it comes to transferring between vessels or out into the fermenter, I've got no idea how much I have.Mark / engrave the inside of the container in 5 litre graduations & number them , that way you can fill with a short hose pipe or a bucket of water to a known set level .
I know there's simpler ways to go about it, but I've had this hotplate stirrer for years and I'm excited to finally have a use for it.I just used a chemically sterilized 2 litre pop bottle rinsed with cold boiled water several times ..... made up the cooled sugar solution to about 1/3 of a litre added my yeast ( Tokay wine -- tolerance 21 -22 % ) , gave it a good shake then stuffed the top with cotton wool & put it in the airing cupboard , giving it a decent shake three times a day for three days with the cotton wooll plug in place , then removed it and put a new plug in place after adding a bit more warm sterile sugar solution once the initial very active fermentation had ceased & repeated the exercise till I had half litres of yeasted solution .
I bet they don't for less than three quid a piece. Cheers though, I'll get some decent ones when mine inevitably break.I've bought PT100 from TC Ltd before, they can create almost any configuration you need. I wanted some that would reach through the lid of the fermenter into the core of the brew so I could control temp in the fermentation cupboard.
It's slowed right down now so I checked the gravity, 1.013 already! The first dry hop was supposed to be during active fermentation, which I probably missed but I've added them now, 60g of Cashmere, a day earlier than the recipe says.the airlock's already going crazy
