I have the same engine, fewer seats

My XK8 has the partial silencer delete and it's pretty good, however a friend has the full delete on his convertible and it sounds lovely.

I called in on a friend in MK after the forum do. He has the same car and has removed 3 boxes (of 6). It does sound nice.

Why do people love bashing Britain so much? Perhaps you would rather put money into the German economy but I wouldn't!

Modern auto box's are very good now, especially if you have a proper engine in it i.e. over 3.0L. why drive a manual

Can't stand them personally. Although maybe a slush-o-matic on a big wafty large engined barge might be different.

Main reason I haven't got a newer car tbh, can't find a decent Estate newer than 2012 I want that has a decent petrol engine and a manual gearbox.

I've got an XJR, and while there's times I'd have loved a manual box (mostly to corner fast) the auto box makes for pretty nice, relaxed driving the rest of the time

Its not bashing britain, its bashing british motor engineering, after 35 years in the motortrade I've seen what the british have to offer and I'd prefer something japanese.

And this is why our Economy isn't doing well.
I have had many British cars - including Rovers which so many people call rotten. 175,000 miles in a British engined Rover 400 - never let me down once - no rust either. And just as nice to drive as the VW Passat I had on hire at the time.
Also had a few Jags and Land Rovers without problems either.

I'm a brit or nothing when it comes to cars. Fair enough the rover 400 was a japanese shell (quite an old one actually), but mostly british engines and all built here. I've had numerous MGs too, still have one in fact. So the Jag was a logical progression, I don't think it wasbuilt as well as the Rover/MGs though.

i’ve ordered it though so hopefully arrives soon

My next door neighbour complains that the jag isn’t loud enough! So will be doing the neighbourly thing and fitting it asap

welp there it is! had a bit of a faff, they’d sent me the wrong one (s type r one which was too big) so they said they’d swap it for the correct one and fit it free of charge (only a 30 min drive away)
