That base just isn’t correct, you cannot let the grinder like this
It's not staying on that.

In that case you should have a protective shroud around the grinder, extraction will be a good idea too…It's not staying on that.I know I get upto some stuff in the flat, (stop it!
), but grinding ain't going to be one of them.

If I could think of a good way of minimising/extracting the dust from a bench grinder, I would. It's going to be used outside the workshop, where there's little for it to bother, but I'm not a fan of having grinding dust get everywhere.
Matt's off to eBay nowOr even just get a shot blaster and make a bracket to hold the grinder
I always fancied a separate room for "dirty work", maybe something with a big entry hole filled up with those walk-through freezer flap things.
Problem is, the majority of my work is dirty stuff so I've just left the workshop open and I do the clean jobs in the house!
If the bench grinder is your only dirty tool you could build a shot-blast style box around it. Or even just get a shot blaster and make a bracket to hold the grinder
This is the spot I made for a grinder. May board the rear & right side too, to keep it more enclosed.
and fit a work lightit helps if u can see what your doing

If you have got an enclosed area like that I bet extraction would be pretty effective..
