Continuous Card Authority. Very bad idea, totally different to DD. There is no problem with DD because the terms of the DD guarantee entitle you to immediate repayment of a queried transaction, with no argument. Can't remember acronym, but its where you give your card details and they take it out on those
Best thing to do with BOC is set up a direct debit, then at the end of the month you get a statement in the post, (or by email if you register) they then take the money round the 20th of the next month so you have plenty of time to make sure the funds are available.
That isn't direct debit, it's CCA. Different altogether. With DD you remain in control and can immediately get a refund for any payment you don't recall. With CCA it is up to the payee to cancel it, in theory you are at their mercy. However, many banks with a little pressure, will void a CCA although they may tell you it's impossible.
I pay by Direct Debit no problems , nothing to worrie about ,.......... only the eye poppin charges for rental and gas![]()
