Blow Up Tent

I now have a very good sleeping bag
I am looking at a blow-up tent
Just to make steam weekends that bit better
The Berghouse air 4 has been recommended
It will also be used for family stuff
Any recommendations plenty of end of season sales on at the minute

it may sound good but i wont advise it get a leak and your tent will be down compared to the other tents out there

I have also been looking as our Cabanon frame tent while fantastic takes atleast an hour to put up but looking on ebay you see a number of the air tents as damaged.

Seems its a fine line between being inflated and bursting when the sun (finally) comes out.

I hate towing trailers that is why i have not bought a cheap caravan

Ah right. I had two TTs in the 80s/90s, the first was built from a kit sold by the Daily Mirror (same as the sailing dinghy), must have been 25 years old when I bought it... then I had a small lotto win so bought a Conway Corniche DL, I'd swear it had more floor area then the house I own now.
Conway did a 'side storage trolley' that let you tip the trailer on its side for...er, storage... with the wheels off and towbar unbolted it would park easily out of the way for winter. I didn't fancy paying money though so one of my first ever projects with a grinder and MIG set was to rip off their trolley design
I also pirated their cycle carrier rack and modified the front of the chassis to include a pull-out fridge carrier rack as fitted to some later Conways... it meant you could get to site and have a cold beer while pitching the thing

Mate had several trailer tents and regularly asked me to braze the joints of the poles after windy holidays as they had cracked.

Have a look on UK campsite.co.uk for unbiased reviews by owners for all sorts of makes and sizes. If you're not wanting to pay silly silly prices look at Vango or Outwell, as they seem to have solved the early teething problems they had with the airbeams deflating.

This was mine. Ex Chinese Army field hospital that I used as a lambing shed for several years before it was wiped out by a gale. There is a Ewe and new born lamb under it in the flattened picture

It packed into two Euro Pallet crates and I inflated it with a road compressor

If your only planning to kip in it for a little more comfort these are worth a look. If you want a bit more home from home not so good. Quick setup and pack down once you've got the knack of folding it up.

The devil in me would say get on with it, it's going to cost about £4000 in gas

A place I worked at had an advertising blimp - inflated it was maybe 15' long and 8' diameter.

I personally filled it 3 times from a single chest high cylinder of balloon helium - and the cylinder wasn't new when I started and wasn't empty afterwards...

But if he hasn't got an account with a Helium cylinder on it he will have to use balloon gas cylinders from the party shop.

I've never considered a blow up tent. The ones shown on here look pretty good if a bit big. We went for a pop up tent, up in seconds and folded away in a minute and a half. Sleeps four easily and high enough for me to stand up straight in.

I've always thought these look interesting. Useless in an open field of course and just as pricey as a Qube but very cool.
