Blackhawk plasma 5

Hi Guys
I have the chance to obtain this blackhawk plasma 5 cutter in exchange for approx £90 worth of lawnmower repairs,
It is single or 3 phase, model is STP95A, it looks big and very capable compared to my little R tech machine, just after advice really as to whether its worth the deal
also if replacement tips are available, etc.

That is pretty much the machine, except this one has an external pressure regulator and gauge, the power switch goes 2 ways 415 one way, 240 the other, off in middle (with lockout so can't turn it wrong way), I was told it belonged to this guys Dad (now dead) and he told me he had seen his dad cut some hefty stuff with it, but yeah the deal is subject to it working and me being able to get consumables for it.

HF? Harbour Freight? So does that mean they are of dubious quality? I'm in the uk so not sure what being sold there means.

Not everything Harbor Freight sells is "Dubious Quality".
These were labeled "Made in Italy", and the same as sold by Snap-on and many other
places.

are you sure its single phase and 3 phase? I have a cebora cut 50 that looks very similar to that actualy, and it also have a voltage selector, but im fairly sure its still 3 phase at 240v

My Cebora looked just like that and was only three phase> The switch was (I think, as a while back) between 220 and 380 3ph. Extremely good it was too.

Thanks for the input so far, so it sounds like its a fairly decent bit of kit and possibly cebora consumables may fit it.
Regarding the single or 3 phase, it has a 240v 1ph plug attached at the moment (no where up to the current required i know) so I assume that's what they have been running it on, I'm not going to take that as proof though, if it is 3 phase at both voltages then i should find at least 3 live and an earth in the cable with most likely a neutral also? Trying to remember from my days as maintenance tech at a fruit packing factory, seem to remember some machines didn't use N at all which was a pain for us if we wanted to add on a 1ph motor or fan or something as there was no N to go with one of the lives to make 240 1ph, maybe that was just very bad practice, don't know, just did as i was told.

looks like the old machinemart model, think it was called the King cut 40...if you look close they had a funny torch head that had a plastic ring that clipped on with 2 contacts, one each side. If this gets lost by coming off you can spend a week trying to fix a machine thats not broken, dont ask me how i know
