Firrings rather than furrings.
I use stepped firrings where possible. Easy to rip on a table saw of with a skilly.
400c from memory is 9mm smaller each firring.
Angled firrings it's easier and less hassle to get em cut. Jewsons Travis Perkins or local sawmills will cut em for you
If angled firrings are perpendicular to the roof joists I belive the minimum thickness is 35mm at the small end. They can't taper to a point.
When installing them i install the end two, then use a string line and move the rest up and down the rafter until they hit the line makes a much flatter roof, they are never Identical
