Nice! Are the small pulleys for a powered down feed?
Yep, and I think the belt for the power down feed has to be twisted like a figure of 8, to clear the frame.Nice! Are the small pulleys for a powered down feed?
Great stuff. I'm sure I've seen a figure of eight used like that before.Yep, and I think the belt for the power down feed has to be twisted like a figure of 8, to clear the frame.
He'll soon find out. If he has a powered up feed rather than a down feed and it refuses to go near the steel he wants to drill he'll know it's wrong.Twisting it also reverses the direction. That drill looks quite sexy, and a pocketful of change to boot.
@ MattF Plenty of pics of my drill here.

@balmerchris If you ring about those drill bits let me know what price he is charging, I'm after a few myself.
That drill looks a lot better than mine, that table is mint. It's still got all the covers on the gearboxes & the column. There are traces of a similar blue paint on mine under the layers of muck so that could be the original colour! Doing a search for Bradson drills only seems to bring up hand crank bench drills so these could be unusual!
I bought an Italian electric motor for my Meddings drill from a guy in Dungannon, I think he has an ebay shop. Very keenly priced & good to deal with, here's his website. http://www.electrotechdrives.co.uk/
If I remember I'll have a look at my drill to see what size the motor is.
This might be worth a punt for someone near London: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Bench-Drill/131703260011
