I'd have had to build an extension to the workshop to get that in, but I wouldn't have thought twice about it.

I was same with mine. It only cost me around twenty odd quid purchase price, and the photo's in the listing were abysmal, but I thought what the hell. Also had to trek way down South for it, (also took me ages to finally get down there for it. Fortunately the chap was willing to hold onto it for me), so it ended up being more expensive by the time I'd done. Then it took me about two years to finally get that seized driveshaft out of it, and it's still only at this stage. 
It's sexy though.

Just dug out the original photo's from the listing which I bought mine from. Now this is what you call taking a gamble. These are actually the original size too. These two photo's were all I based the purchase and a 300+ mile round trip on.

There's a guy from Newtownards who advertises lathes on Gumtree, I think he's called Damien, could be the same person.
@balmerchris - glad you bought it, I don't really need it and can't really afford it at the moment. I'm more annoyed at missing out on that tyre machine.
When it comes to transporting it look at the post I did on my drill. I used a 6x4 car trailer and had it well strapped to the 4 corners. Make sure the floor of the trailer is up to it. When you get it home could you please post some photos of any name plates you see. There's none on my drill and I can't identify it.
If I'm in the area could I call to see the drill, maybe offer you some advice on how it is supposed to work seeing as some of it is seized?
BTW, are you related to Sam Balmer from Enniskillen area?
Yeah I'll stick up some photos when I get her home. Your more than welcome to call a have a look, just let me know when. Bring your wellies, my yard isn't what you'd call clean.
I don't know a Sam Balmer from enniskillen but it's possible he is a distant relative, as I don't think there are too many Balmers about.

If I ever get round to finishing it. Make sure you get yours done in a more timely manner. Bearings on that one are a mix of cast iron and bronze, btw. Cast iron on the driveshaft, (they're in oil wells which have a loose ring for lubrication), and PB on the quill assembly and other bits.

Yep, there are not too many Balmers round here, that's why I asked.
Our model of camel back drill is very unusual in that the hand wheel for lowering the spindle is under it's gearbox, every other one is at the front!
The handwheel is the rusty one in the middle.
I couldn't find another one like this until this one appeared for sale and now Ronan has posted a link to another one!

I seen that drill as well ronan but as it was in Cork never thought any more of it. Just noticed the price! Hacksaw looks nice though.
That's some selection of drill bits, will have to see if he has any left.

I got the drill home yesterday with the help of a lad from work. Only got a chance to have a look tonight. There is a nice plaque on it from what I presume is the original supplier. The big flat belt is real leather laced together, proper old school!
The table was covered in swarf, chips, broken glass, nuts, bolts and coins. Under all the junk it's in very good condition. Anyway here's some pics I'll get some better ones in the daylight.
