If it doesn't work out for you, itll be ideal for a couple of IBCs in a field for water! The aluminium sheets alone for my trailer are almost £1000!
The plan is to turn it into an expedition trailer - Ulan Bataar here we come
I will have a demountable tent for the top - watching @brewdexta trailer build with interest.
Although most of it's time will be spent lugging wood and lathes/milling machines of course.

Lol, have you seen how easily one of those lionesses hop up onto aluminium box trailers, especially if there's a meal in there....The aluminium sheets alone for my trailer are almost £1000!

That is what puts me off a new Defender.Well within your 250kg towbar limit then, that’s very high, both of my 4x4’s are a measily 75 KG’s, I foolishly pulled 26 trailer loads of topsoil when doing the groundwork’s for my garage, the clip on tow bar is now toast on my X5, didn’t realise the free play in the tow bar until after I’d finished, at the time I’d no idea that there even was a limit. I know now ! Thankfully it remained attached.
Ford Ranger doesn't quite, in fact its quite low for the older onesI will either tow with a land rover 110 or a Ford Ranger. Both of which have generous tow ball weights. 250kg I think.
It would be a new wildtrack on lease.Ford Ranger doesn't quite, in fact its quite low for the older ones

I would LOVE a new Defender - apart from cost and they only seem to have very feeble part time tow balls fitted.
That is just a standard tow ball.If you are happy with a part time plough you can get fixed ones -

Can't say they look feeble, 350Kg noseweight is quoted for them! No excuse (other than cost!) for the new Defender now @fizzy , leave behind the horse cart technology in the Ford and get yourself the vehicle your trailer deserves![]()
Well apart from a 110I've two Land rover 90s and think they are the best tow vehicle ever
Yes longer wheelbase helps.Well apart from a 110
Oh and a 4.4TDV8 L322. The 110 is great for maneuverability because it's narrower than the Range Rover but I'm afraid with big Welsh hills (sorry England just doesn't have them by comparison) there's no substitute for a 330hp V8 diesel with over 700Nm of torque from basically idle.
Now that in a 110...

I may end up treating mine a bit like this - well not as bad
So a good tow hitch is VERY important!
