So guys, i've come across a nice house that needs plenty of work (fine), but one issue is the potential rising damp.. I can't seem to get a handle on the complexity of solving?
What is the make up of a cost quote to repair rising damp?
Is it - stripping back wall, drilling and injecting damp course. Then all the remedial work to dress the wall back up how it was before? i.e. plaster / paint / skirting etc..
A few pics if you are curious... Gosh!! I'm really milking this forum of late.. hopefully one day i'll be able to give back!
The estate agent highlighted the damp during viewing and said it was likely the rotten fascia/soffit which was causing it... Not so sure about that as it seems consistent along that gable end wall. What do you think?
The exterior showing the gable end wall with the interior damp.. colour coded so you can see the equivalent interior pics...
The gable end is largely west facing..
Note I didn't take any pics of the light green corner. From memory, there was no damp there to speak of.
