Someone I know wants bar stool seats welding to a beer keg. I've not been round yet but after googling it seems most beer kegs are stainless?
If this is the case I'd be welding mild steel to stainless. I've got a rohr200mi which can do stick welding. I always assumed the only way to weld stainless was with some stainless rods? But after having a brief look you can use the torch with stainless wire. The gas I've got is the usual hobby weld 5 (argon, co2, o2 mix).
What I'm asking is would I be better off just buying some of those rods and using the stick welding function (Something I've never done before but would be good to try) or just mag weld it with the torch and get some stainless wire?
Would one be easier/better than the other?
cheers
