If you in Northern Ireland this crowd is worth a try.
They supply to local motor factors and farm supply shops.
I use JNK in Ballymena as they are local to me.
Id been on the BOC hobby deal for years but got rid of my BOC account a few months ago and changed to Northern Cyrogenics.
20l argon was £135 for the bottle and £56.55 a fill and 50l 5% argon was £170 for the bottle and £74.38 a fill. They fill to 300bar so lots of gas and you get the full deposit back if you leave the bottle back. All prices are plus vat.
I got the 50l bottle because there was a problem with bottle supply when I was changing over but I think that's sorted now.
Mind you the bigger bottle doesn't take up much more room and it's great value, but it is also bloody heavy.

It might be worth checking with your local motor factors, at least 2 in the Cambridge area supply various gases?

Yep. I was on a Y size BOC cylinder, but I had dropped off their rental radar. This too was refilled a long time ago, probably more like ten years. The cylinder is still here.
Didn't want to pay yearly rental or their other stupid (and excessive) charges, so went over to Hobbyweld, as there are two places near me.
Other thing about it is, as a retiree, you will be glad of the purposeful trip out, as an escape from being "stir crazy" !
