Bench Shear Table

Just ordered one of these for my brother. 400mm, Katsu bench shear:

He's going to use it to hopefully cut max, 1mm copper sheet.

I want to make a rest as in a bit of a table to the left. Is there any reason this can't just be a chunk of angle iron bolted on using the existing two holes?

I've seen the video This Old Tony did on YouTube and it seems overkill.

It does, or rather my 300mm aim shear has one.

The main problem with these is the work will try to rotate as it cuts, so your perfectly aligned cut will be squewed off at 80 degrees, as shown in TOT's video. The table allows you to put a straight or angled alignment fence and allows some clamps to hold the work fixed in place so it cant move from the fence.

How on earth could the courier have bent it like that? Proper peed off, this was a present for someone.

I have just received the above order and am seriously less than impressed. The item frame and base plate(s) are seriously bent as per the attached photographs.

I honestly can't tell whether DPD now deliver by air and dropped it from 30,000 feet or if it was made like it.

Suffice to say I am refusing to accept the goods and ask please that you send an RMA and collect the goods at your cost.

What makes it worse is that this was a present for somebody!

Box it came in was a bit misshapen but not torn or anything.

Even so it should work and be usable, we have two ones a really old Ketona I think others an old machine mart one but has been good.
Much of the new stuff is very poor quality designed to last a few months for a restoration etc then never used again

Was the handle an optional extra? Looking at it - £25 tops.
For an extra fiver you would have got a handle like in my photo. The bolts are wrong too.

It did come with a handle.

How are the bolts wrong?

Shouldn't be threaded all the way to the head. Threads make bad bearing surfaces.
