If you have a mixer that wasn't cleaned out and the cement has dried, throw in a handful of rocks, a dash of diesel and then switch it on and light the diesel it'll take every bit of cement off the drum.
If it's getting rumbled and tumbled around a lot, it might vapourise to the point it will light.Diesel will not burn on its own. If you throw a match into a bucket of diesel the match will go out.
The guys in a hireshop beside where I worked did it all the time and said it never caused a problem. What sort of heat is produced ? What will it do to the gear box rubber oil seal , the drive belt & the drums plastic drive pully ?
Quick flash of a blow torch will get it burning no problem.Diesel will not burn on its own. If you throw a match into a bucket of diesel the match will go out.
Just give the dried on mortar/concrete a well placed meaty wallop with a two pound hammer on the clean side of the paddle / bars , most of it comes off without any damage to the paddles or bars .apart from all the cement still stuck on behind the paddles![]()
