I've looked at the top few threads of the TIG Welding section and there wasn't an obvious link to such a thing, so here's the question:
Is there a beginners guide to selecting and sharpening tugstens?
Which colour to select - are thoriated electrodes (being mildly radioactive), to be avoided?
What is the best way to sharpen tugstens? What equipment and method to do it safely? (I've learned my silicon carbide bench grinder will be no good - there's someone on ebay flogging a diamond disc for an angle grinder but at 11,000rpm+ I'm not keen buying any type of disc not rated for the job)
What is the required shape and point, and why?
What diameter should be selected for what intended current range?
Many thanks
