Hi Guys, Just registered on the forum, been reading for a while. Lot of wisdom here! So hello from me!
Its been a while since i've used my welder (over 5 years!) but i'm starting to get back in to it.
I only ever did minor repairs to thin sheet but i'm looking at doing a project and welding up some paddock stands for my bike from 3mm thick box section and plate.
My welder is a small 90Amp bodyshop thing which has been adequate for my use so far.
My question is this.. Is it possible to weld thicker steel (3 and 4 mm) together, if you can weld both sides of the joint?
I know on the site there is the 4mm challenge which says no but i was wondering if it would be possible if you had access to both sides etc?
Also are overlap joints possible in the same manner?
Thanks in advance.
