bead roller foot-pedal wiring

Hi I'm Joe from UK and At 80 I try to keep busy. I Enjoy MIG, TIG and Ark, plus bead rolling. (a new challenge) I'm seeking a diagram to add a variable speed foot to my 24v roller, to aid the restoration of three Citroen 2CVs. I have seen the name Wendelspanswick on the forum and wonder if he is still a member or anyone could put me in touch as he as completed something similar.

Welcome to the forum.

What roller or more importantly what motor do you have.
There are lots on here who could advise but we need a little more information.

I added a foot pedal to vary the speed on mine but it's got a 240v 3 phase motor so no use to you, but it can certainly be done.

I have a bead roller motorised with a 24v wheelchair motor, I got the gearing a bit wrong and it was a little fast, so I run it on 12v, works fine, I was going to make my foot pedal variable speed but to be honest slow is not an issue, we are not a production line, in the end I could see no need for more speed,
