So today was the day to modify it and make it more practical. Ends have been sliced off and 250 mm taken off from each end of the middle section. All cleaned up and edges bevelled a little in preparation to put it back together

Few years I made this from a 47kg cylinder,

A good question, there was too much left on each end that prevented the grill from being removed properlyWhy have you cut the ends off? If you were just to make it shorter, then why nut just cut n shut the middle?
