I've found a fully editable solid that fits the Dewalt battery that I worked on for a DeWalt to Makita adaptor. Don't know where I got the DeWalt bit from originally as it is a fully editable .dwg. Suspect I downloaded an STL from somewhere, printed it, then measured and re drew it. Tbh it's a bit loose on a DeWalt battery so I'll work on that.

I've started to graft it to the Parkside bit (in CAD).

Same issue as with the Makita in that the + & - are on opposite sides but hey ho.

Tether the PC to your 'phone? Often done as easily as plugging in the USB, otherwise by Bluetooth.

I will likely revisit the battery connectors as I have some ideas rather than using salvaged ones from old Makita batteries.

How about buying some of the connectors? Something like this (I'm sure they can be found cheaper if you shop around & buy several):

The mobile barely works here. One bar on Vodaphone 4G if I hang out the upstairs bedroom window...which I'm doing now. Nothing on Giffgaff 4G.

Makita battery to Parkside tool adapter printed and fits. Black PETG at 0.2mm layers. Still need to print the drop in "wedge" that slips in and engages with the Parkside tool and the wiring compartment cover as well. What can I say, looks functional if a bit shiny:

The DeWalt to Parkside adaptor is printing now as a test run. 0.3mm layers for quickness. Managed to get the bulk of the design together today.

Still, it was only a test run. I've corrected that and have also tweaked how the DeWalt section fits to the DeWalt battery. Still a tad loose imo and a bit short on the fitting so some more fettling there.

As for a name..."DeW2Par"? Something to emboss on the sides. Lad just realised that the letters on the "MAK2PAR" adaptor didn't need infill as so shallow. The infill made them a bit messy.

DeWalt to Parkside adaptor. In black PETG, 0.2mm layers, 16% infill, 4 1/2 hours to print. I'm going to tweak the front end so there's less sharp edges.

Designed to take the Makita battery tabs. Haven't fitted those. Hopefully enough space in the little recess for wiring and soldering. If not I can change the model.

Not sure either if I'll need a 10K resistor. I don't actually use the DeWalt platform. Scrounged this dead battery off a mate for measuring purposes.

I've been playing forming my own battery tabs o/of 1mm copper. I think 0.7mm might be better. Also looking to machine (mill) down some plier jaws for this. Haven't got a mill so might be a hand job.

The "Mak2Par" Makita battery to Parkside tool adapter is done and works. We'll call it the prototype as I'm not 100% happy and will thus make some tweaks for the next one.

So a PETG adapter to my own design. The supported side is a bit rough but that isn't seen as it's against the Parkside tool. The connectors are salvaged from dead, clone Makita batteries:

Putting it all together with 14AWG silicone wires was a bit of a fiddly pig! See how the + & - cross over. I had to heat the copper tabs and push them into the PETG. The plan was a screw on cover plate to go over everything. You can see the 10k resistor (thanks @Kram ) that connects T of the tool to negative. I'll revisit this detail and allow some more space.

With the adapter on it even fits in the box still!

Will put some video links up later showing it working on both a 20V Parkside hot air gun and nibbler.

I still need to make the locking "wedge" that will affix the adapter permanently to the Parkside tool. I did mull permanently sticking it in with silicone but as I only have one adaptor at the mo then a bit of duct tape might suffice for now and afford easy swapping between the two tools.

Thinking further ahead, then if I'm never going to buy into the Parkside battery platform, I could dispense with the recovered spring fingers and wire directly to the tool internally.

Anyway...Parkside X20 battery to Makita tool but with a difference. You have to open the Makita/Fakita tool and ditch the Makita battery connector. Fine if you don't have Makita batteries but want to buy say Fakitas and couple with Parkside batteries.

@Kram I reckon, that for "tree work", there would be a risk of this bit snapping and the battery falling off, not good from a height obviously. Depending on the plastic used for the print maybe?

Reprinted the adapter in tough PLA. I reckon it could do with losing 1/1.5mm off the width so the two halves of the tool case fit together better. I already took 1.75mm off where it fits into the battery.
