Has anone built a riser for the X1C yet.

My lad printed simple, L shaped corner ones just to give an air gap when printing PLA. The original had magnet holes but he filled those in:

He can't find the original link but it was on the Bambu site.

Cheers chap. But it was the tool holding capability I was looking at using a riser.

Fusion did not like the .SVG my daughter created in Adobe suite. It imported as a right mess.

To create the model my lad took a simple screenshot of her .SVG, as a JPEG, then ran it through an online converter. Fusion accepted that as a lovely outline to work with.

Something quirky/restrictive in Adobe is his guess.

I have tried in fusion and I can get the SVG to extrude. Good so far.

Imported SVG again to try and make it 3mm larger and join it but being able to colour it. That's where I am crawling up my own backside.

The idea is to create a 3D teacup with letter on it.

Like this but 3D and referencing tea.

I drew the half-profile in Affinity as an svg, inserted it in Fusion and revolved it to get the main body of the cup. Drew a curved line path for the handle shape, and an ellipse for the handle x-section then did a sweep of the ellipse along the path. The lettering is done by creating your text on an offset plane in front of the cup and then using the Emboss command - you can set the depth to + or - depending what effect you want.

Neither as it happens...lol But I am sure I will need to know them both as some stage.
It comes with the territory of not knowing how to design that you also struggle to explain what you need to know.

I have a SVG of a cup and all I am trying to do to start with is to create an outline round the.cup that will be printed in white. The cup itself will be printed in blue. And the text that will say. COFFEE Is my magic potion.

As is normal with my self teaching I have found out how to use the contour tool. Create a stroke in black.
Save it as an SVG and import into fusion......BUT it does not have the border /stroke round the outside of the saved SGV when imported to Fusion.


This is what I am importing into fusion as an SVG (ignore the missing handle its the process I am trying to get my head round)

I think the saved SVG only has color separation not curves..

This is where if I was sat next to you it would become clearer, and I'm reminded of the old Irish joke about asking for directions - I wouldn't start from here if I was you
In Affinity, rather than trying to draw a 3d view of your cup in a 2d illustration app, I would start with a half- profile cross-section like on the right hand side:

Choose a line thickness of around 1-2 pt so you can gauge the shape easily. Forget the colour at this stage - you can add that when you get to Fusion if you want, or later in the slicer when you specify which filament to use.
Export your profile as an svg.
In Fusion, and in the Design workspace, start a new sketch, go to the Insert button and import the svg. Of course, it will insert it upside down, or at a ridiculously large size, so you'll have to sort that out later with the move tool, but that's easy enough (its a bit hard to make out the profile in the screenshot but its there, upside down with that black box partially covering it):

Then select your 2D half-profile shape from Affinity and revolve it to make the body of the cup, now in proper 3D:

Now is a good time to flip it upside down with the move tool (it might help to draw a longish construction line along the X or Y axis to help with the revolve, as you have to select it, and the origin is hidden under the cup making it a bit tricky to locate without that centre-line):

Now's your chance to tell me I've completely misunderstood what you're asking

Yep you are correct....lol BUT it maybe that is the only way to achieve what I want to do. lol

I dont think I actually want 3D. (possibly 2.5D) as I never know what that is either lol

I "think " I might be confusing Extruding in fusion and Colouring the cup. As the text in funko is printed blue and the outer white.

6 spools for 59 quid of eco pla.

10 spools of eco pla 99 quid. But you get 2 extra spools until 5.30 Dec 2nd I think it is.

They also do petg but not sure if that's on offer.

That company has "upgraded their lines to improve tolerance" for about a decade.
Years ago I tried them twice and they were shocking, although people seem happier with it lately. They do use decent basestock resins but the QC was crap.

It printed crap but did print. I will get better settings and try again. I am sure 100% is actually too fast for tpu.

Nah the standard TPU settings are slow as hell. Absolutely isn't the case of it being too fast unless you didn't set things up properly.

Stock speed is something tiny like 4mm^3/s - this is mine doing production parts at 18....

Getting low tech with a Sharpie!

In AutoCAD I'd first draw the profile including the cup wall thickness as a polyline. I'd then EXTRUDE around a semicircle. I'd then MIRROR it to get a complete cup.

Starting with that^

Create a new sketch on the flat face.

In the sketch, go to Create--> Project/Include --> Project

Choose Project, Body and then select the cup (or the blue square here - I happen to have this open...):

Click OK - this creates purple lines in the sketch that follows the outline of the body.

Still within the sketch, hit the 'Offset' button:

Select the purple lines that appeared when you did the 'Project' and enter an offset (or drag the slider):

Finish the sketch

Select the 'Extrude' command and select the the area between the two outlines in the sketch you created.
Extrude this to form your border. You *probably* want to create a new body, but I'm not sure how the 3D printing colours work.

Why mirror it, when you could just revolve extrude it 360deg?

For some reason it won't always extrude around a circle but will a half circle.

You really have missed out, seriously! Get yourself a copy of Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, either in book form or audio, not the film and persevere with it for a while, because it will sound like utter nonsense before the clever writing becomes clear. I guarantee that you will be totally hooked. You will then know all about the Ultimate answer etc.
