One thing I would like to kmow is if someone wanted to create Archie is 4 Today in this style.

Would they use Fusion 360 or Affinity designer.

I would use Fusion as it's what I have. Also, you could make it easier to get the colours sorted on the print. I would probably make the colour inset as a separate piece to save filament changes.

I can't find the Damn font now. Lol. But it prints face down and only does one filament change.
As its his Birthday tomorrow I am up against time so once I snaffle my dinner I will get onto it. ;

Talking to another parent today whilst looking around uni, I described my two kids as one being vector and the other raster. I know have the (raster) one with the full Adobe suite on finding the Funko font and the other (vector) one waiting to play with it in Fusion.

I think the funko font is a custom font. As for desired style and layout,. Bearing in mind time is getting on. lol Anything fits a naked man

I envisaged me trying to attach the today underneath.

similar to that but my artistic flair is really not that good to be honest,

I think some of the problem is Archie does not lend itself to the Flair that the way F in Funko does.

Now I am.struggling via team viewer as my printer has decided it's not got an AMS fitted. But it most certainly has.

It's not the easiest thing to do . Pair it remotely.

I can't help you there. What I mean is I'm not waking the kids up to ask!

We think btw the latest incarnation, with the crown will have just the "t" and "o" unsupported. My lad reckons it should be OK because of the 20mm depth.

I remember the discussion on here whether to have a 3D section or not. I'm sure there were some "it's not welding / real engineering" thoughts. If I'm honest I had them.

Yesterday we were visiting another uni with my daughter. She's currently doing a Level 4 / foundation degree in graphics (& something else ) at college before going to uni next year. Pretty much every uni we've seen seems to be promoting interaction and collaboration between the architectural, graphics, arts dept with say graphics students having free access to the model making and 3D printing facilities.

Last night's interaction with @ukracer was a real world practical example. @ukracer "the client" with a problem and a deadline. The graphic designer sorted the font after some discussion with the client. They then furnished the 3D printer with the design who tweaked it to a practical design.

All it needs now is as photo of the happy 4 year old and my daughter can put it in her portfolio as a real world example with a little write up!

Fusion did not like the .SVG my daughter created in Adobe suite. It imported as a right mess.

To create the model my lad took a simple screenshot of her .SVG, as a JPEG, then ran it through an online converter. Fusion accepted that as a lovely outline to work with.

Something quirky/restrictive in Adobe is his guess.

Well you will get one. Sadly not just yet

I spent two hours before it beat me sadly. I have messaged my son to go over and turn printer off and on again.

It kept telling me there is no filament loaded in the external slot.
Which makes no sense as its running the AMS.
I have tried unlinking etc. In fact I have tried many many things, non worked. But I have learnt a lot abut the AMS and colours etc.

I also tried it from the PC running at home on the LAN (using teamviewer).
From the Bambu Handy on my phone.
And from my laptop.....all 3 connect fine but I cant get rid of the error message.

i cant find how to remotely reboot the X1C so for future use I will investigate a wifi switch just in case.

Thanks to @My Old Landy for his model I will print it soon. Just to test it. Actually not sure he he posted the 3mf.

Grandson is not unhappy though (unlike me)
