a few bio disks I've wired have 50 watt motors they cover a 4 bed house
50 watts 24/7 = 1.2kWh per day.
Thats 1/4 to 1/3rd of our total daily usage.
i want one but they need to get the power used down.

Thanks for that info re power requirement. Sounds as though a PV energy source would be a bit too expensive in most situations. I had been thinking of systems that might suit a little 2-person holiday chalet, or public toilets at a remote car park (they often stink, so probably have inadequate septic tanks). Presumably those could work with something smaller than the 50W being specified for a 4-bed house, but still not ideal for PV.
Very true. Do these treatment systems churn away non-stop 24/7 ?

Yes they are supposed to, the air helps the bugs thrive and eat the poopeees
From what I know of proper off grid set ups, I think you will find a battery bank and diesel generator on autostart cheaper.
One of my neighbours spent about 60 large on the full spread, wind turbine, solar, batteries blah blah.....And cant run his washer when he runs other things in the house!
