.Thats because it has no war head on the end of it...The worst of it all was the "visualisation" of the capsule surrounded by "flame" as it came back through the atmosphere, which was upside down (entering pointy end first) and must have confused many about where the heat-shield fitted in the grand scheme of things.
During the extensive self-congratulations, there was virtually no mention of the perfect and vital contribution of the Service Module, designed and made by the European Space Agency (built in Germany I believe).
For over 50 years, the doubters have said Apollo could never have gone to the Moon as humans get frazzled going through the Van Allen belt. Well...maybe not.
I see that just about the time that Artemis took off, Trump proposed a hefty cut in NASA's budget. The Head of NASA has said that to continue with Artemis on the planned scheduled (people on the Moon in 2028), the Space Station may have to be ended earlier than planned.
(please no politics)Is that not more to do with a Richard head in charge! The whole technology aspect of the space thing I find quite interesting, but costs are mind boggling…I once attended a talk on project management by the guy who was heavily involved in putting the little thing on Mars for samples, really interesting, but the costs would have cleared the third world debt and fed Africa for 50 years or so.Thats because it has no war head on the end of it...(please no politics)
In fairness the spin offs from space programmes, F1 and even wars do bring many benefits to the World. Is that not more to do with a Richard head in charge! i stayed out of the other post but seen as someone has rebuted some stuff via this post i might as well add my thoughts to itI see that just about the time that Artemis took off, Trump proposed a hefty cut in NASA's budget. I think some of my customers in the UK would disagree with you. Where do you think the money goes? It keeps people in good quality jobs around the World and that money filters everywhere.i stayed out of the other post but seen as someone has rebuted some stuff via this post i might as well add my thoughts to it
they deserve there cut after the disgusting latest space flight
i havent seen the need for the expense to do a fly by of the moon and to take photos further out from the moon
what a waste of time and money that nasa has disgustingly wasted
i didnt see the point in watching this space exploration as there was no benefit in it

A guy I used to jump with was involved with the parachutes used by ArtemisThe original Apollo programme used splashdown parachutes made in Wales![]()
I get the point, pushing the envelope and product development. But I personally could live quite happily with out formula 1 or wars for that matter. But as a stimulant to product development Id agree war can be quite focusing. In fairness the spin offs from space programmes, F1 and even wars do bring many benefits to the World.
Penicillin was invented and pretty much remain a lab experiment until the needs of war caused it to go into mass production. It has saved far more lives than have been lost in warfare.I get the point, pushing the envelope and product development. Battle field medicine has translated through to A+E triage.
The word Triage came from the French obviously. But you will find that there is a lot more to treatments now than just debridement tools.Battlefield wound debridement tools were perfected by Napoleonic surgeons and their design hasn't changed aside from the materials. Their modern day counterparts would have no problem picking them up.
What makes you think they went this time either? CGI's even better now...For over 50 years, the doubters have said Apollo could never have gone to the Moon as humans get frazzled going through the Van Allen belt. Well...maybe not.

I of course think we went - both times.
No because I sm a business man. But there is a common perception of destroying money or wasting it.@fizzy
a serious question here as i know what you do
you have a driver that did a long drive just to take a photo and return its just cost you 1,000 for this to happen
would you be happy in paying for it as i think not
would you pay 10 grand for the same thing to happen because if someone did that to you i suspect you would be gunning for them by any means
artemis is the exact same thing on a different scale a total ripoff for the american people a true insult for them
i wouldnt have minded if they actually landed on the moon itself run some tests while there can we drill into the side of a metorite hole
can we fasten to the sides for solar power to be directed
