It a "good" achievement I think...but none of it is reusable so doesn't solve the main issue with Apollo which was the cost.

Is there a reason they couldn't use something like the falcon heavy boosters for example?

Apollo was actually cheaper than the Shuttle towards the end. Reusable isn't always cheaper although Space X have finally managed it.

I was so looking forward to the new era of Artemis and yet NASA coverage has been so poor. I stayed up to watch splashdown. I was expecting so much more with modern cameras.
Space X have much better footage.

I watched the launch...was disappointed so didn't bother with reentry.

In contrast I have watched live every spacex starship launch!

If part of their mission was to get people interested I'd say that hasn't been very successful.

It's rather long, and you need to stick with it to the end (you can do some skipping), but this YouTube video on the Artemis II heat shield is very interesting, claiming that even before the mission, they had already decided to fly a different heatshield for Artemis III. It suggests that the bad problems with the Artemis I heat shield were not fixed, but side-stepped. Of course, YouTube needs to be taken with caution;
