malcolm & Clementine the Cat Messages 9,720 Location Bedford UK Jul 10, 2010 #4 Argon will give you a much steadier arc at low volts than CO2, it'll run a bit cooler and allow more control using wire speed, but the welds don't flow and can end up being a bit pointy.
