Hi,
I have a 1954 Austin Healey which has aluminium front and rear shrouds that need plenty of welding work. I have received a few quotes for the work at about £300 but I feel reluctant to take the step without considering all the options. I have seen these two machines at £400 which when combined with the £100 for the gas seem pretty good value. I would rather be able to do it myself than pay another person only to need some additional work at a latter stage. The question is this:
Are these machines good enough to allow an inexperienced TIG welder to get to grips with them and weld an old vehicle or should I forget it and pay the £300 and relax?
