Are these good enough for a classic car?

As one aluminium TIG LEARNER to another the only thing I can say is DON'T.
It is far too easy to screw panels like these up. Certainly do not be afraid to learn but do not learn on something critical like the Healey. I also have a set of expensive aluminium car panels which need pressing splits welding up. I certainly shall not be attacking them with the TIG until I am competent to do so. As you have already been told it is not easy but can be learnt. As for cheap machines I own a Stahlwerk so I am certainly not going to tell you to go out and do it with a £2000 £3000 TIG ONLY ! It can be done.

Steve I'm a car entusiast like you, I prefer to learn a new skill, than pay someone to do it for me.
With regard to the Tig welder, I'd spend more on a machine bought from the UK, once the project is done you can selll it & recoupe most of it back or keep an eye out for a good used one on here.
Lastly, post some pictures in the projects forum of the job you've done so far and the bits you need help with, there are lots of helpful folk on here

I wonder if they work! The heat generated is a lot and if the alternative to asbestos they are using is as useless as the stuff they use for brake linings then the roof will be down all the time. Mind my feet still used to cook!
