aprillia rs 50 rebuild

Inner race had broken up,lost bearings into crankcase,fortunatley no other damage to internals,,,,Bawjaws not sure of speed to be honest think 50+...if thats indicated or true i couldn't say .its pulls better since the rebuild ........Gav

Those RS 50s are great little bikes

we passed an RS on a long stretch of road on the way to the ferry port in calais (we were a little late for the ferry)

we were almost flat out (2cv’s top speed is around 70 mph)

It’s not a moped it’s a proper bike for junior bikers

Thank you for the kind comments Mr 2cv,they are a nice little bike ,he has an older version with a single sided rear swinging arm ,rear wheel changes are very easy ,and i think it looks good too disc brakes front and back as well,a long way away from what i had in my youth.......In my younger days i used to ride a 100cc in to work and often chased my mate in his 2cv,was scary following him into corners as we lent different ways ,on a bike you think your gonna scrape the pedals as it gives the impression your leaning further than you really are....

did it have an rm motor in it rusty?......what was your secret,? the ts50 er that i remember weren't very quick,ap50,fsie50 and dt/ty50 always seemed to be quickest around here ,or was it the later ts?looked like and lc?.....Gav

In my moped days one of the lads at college had a Kriedler?, faster than any of the Jap mopeds, also I think the Honda SS50 was the slowest, we all took the mick out of the lad who had one

carb rejeted slightley other than possibly the exhaust i don't why. when i replaced the rings it when't slower 65. i have an rd125lc still

Rusty you didn't say the ts50er or later version?....Robotstar that kriedler.......was it a step through? ss50 was indeed a horrible bike,my next door neighbour had a honda express ....he got away with it as he was such a nice kid,i had a ty50 later version without pedals ,had to put a fresco exhaust ,reeds and sprocket to get any speed at all........all the kids at the moment seem to be fitting big bore kits 70-80cc.....which i won't do for the lad ,has to stay a 50cc..

sorry it was a ts50x, i also have a zr50 with an 80 bore kit somewhere

zr 50 is a custom stylee?....not sure about that ,did like the rd 125lc,but really preffered trail bike style to road racer,still would like my test and a old xt 250.....1979 version black/silver tank and gold wheels ....really should take my test...Gav
