Every inch of the wall space inside is used, I’d still have to lose the width of the door even if it opened outwards. The access door could open outwards

Sound like you might benefit from a shed at bottom of gardenEvery inch of the wall space inside is used, I’d still have to lose the width of the door even if it opened outwards.
Line the inside with 12mm plywood or OSB, give it some rigidityThis is the kind of thing I had in mind, just not sure how it’d go with it being fibreglass. And once it’s cut there’s no coming back.
These would be the perfect solution.you mean the access door or also known as the man door within a door

I don't understand this - when you open the man access door you appear to walk into 2 horizontal stiffeners (?) plus the bars of the locking mechanism.to give you an idea of access with that door you have

I’ll never have one of those for my garage, #1) I can’t park in the 2car garage, #2) I always enter from the front and might use the alleyway behind the house once or twice a year except for putting the garbage in the recycle bins.Nice door. I'd simply fit a power opener![]()
