Anyone who thinks that by leaving the EU we would regain our sovereignty which translates as being able to dictate to the rest of the world was wrong, we are a small country that loses more of its significance every time we detach ourselves from other countries.

Only in the minds of socialists, who want that to be the case. We can trade with anyone we wish as a Sovereign nation, it is all down to the attitude of others how easy or difficult they want it to be.

Exactly, thinking that every other country was gonna roll over and play nice was naive at best, and in the case of leaving a ruleset designed to allow easy internal block trading and then being surprised that they put barriers in place, moronic at worst.

It should but if we had in effect blocked imports of food from the EU everyone would have been baying for Boris's blood. Far better to create a one way street not in our favour and leave the masses thinking everything is rosy

We should have just walked away, lived with tariffs on everything and without tasteless tomatoes in January. BMW and the others would soon have had everyone back at the table. By the time this should have happened Boris had very little to do with it..
