It has the same flat twin layout...
350 Dragonfly. Same layout as BMWI left it bit late, but I have learnt something today!
Mine is a bit later, front half of a dragonfly engine with a generator where the gearbox should be. Or there should be, the generators long gone.

Once upon a time, in a far flung colony there lived a wise king with his beautiful wife and their two princesses. The king was not only wise but ruggedly handsome and after his family he loved nothing more than old machinery and irony.
The queen was not only beautiful but wise also, and she could tell that the king was a worried man. "Dearest heart", she said, "what is it that vexes you such that not even a game of 'the naughty huntsman' can raise your spirits?"
The king sighed long and low,took a deep draught of his Pinot Noir and began. "My darling queen, you know that I love you more than life itself and that our daughters mean the world to me, in spite of their constant demands for ponies". A faint look of suspicion darted across the queen's fair countenance but she nodded earnestly and the king continued.
"Our kingdom extends from the mountains in the north to the great plains in the south, so far that one can drive for a day and a night without reaching its border".
"I've told you we need to get rid of that car" interjected the queen but the king continued -
"I am sure you know that our western border is part of what is known as the ring of fire"
"The ring of fire also bordered by the kingdoms of Jalfrezi, Vindaloo and Jalapeno?"
"Yes my dear but please don't interrupt me while I'm talking to forum" he replied. The wise king explained to his queen that since this made the kingdom prone to earthquakes he felt that they should have a back-up source of power for the palace because if 'the big one' came they might be off-grid for quite some time. The queen saw that his reasoning was sound and she knew that once her husband was set on a course of action there was little that she could do but agree. She also knew the value of a deposit in the Bank of Brownie Points (married couples only).

With the queen's blessing ringing in his ears the king saddled his jet-block nog and accompanied by Scrotum, his wrinkled old retainer, set off to seek his quarry.After travelling for a year and a day and enduring many hardships and cheap motels they came to a high place of darkness and light (Dylan c. 1976), a place so primitive that they still considered the goatee beard a fashion accessory and the women weren't much better.
Deep in a poly-tunnel used for growing tomatoes they found a wondrous contraption and beside it, on a three-legged stool, a tiny little man. He was old and bent (and there is nothing wrong with that!) but also a sorcerer (children's parties etc.) and as the king drew near he started the generator (for a generator it was) and the air was filled with the sweet sound of the Perkins P6 diesel, produced by Perkins from 1938 to 1961, displacing 4.7L and outputting 86hp at 2600 rpm.
The king was enchanted by the sweet sound and paid for the generator without asking the obvious question "does it generate electricity?". The old man muttered something about needing something more reliable before loading it onto a transporter and the king towed it all the way home behind his trusty nog.
When the queen saw what the king had bought her countenance was dark and Scrotum was sent off to make up the dog-house.
The king explained that what he had there was a 20kW three-phase Dieselite generator probably American and probably fitted with the Perkins engine at some later date.
It ran nicely but voltage was there none!

Yes some odd voltage like that. They did a bronze head at some stage too, but i don't know if they were used on the gennys

if the king can get the gen started and running no electric or not should keep a queen happy should be a lot better than a washing mechine

If it's a 6 cylinder engine it'll have perfect primary balance, thy queen would disapprove.
Better blank off an injector for her.....

With the words of Alexander Pope in mind the king retired to his man-palace down the garden to take stock of what he had bought.
There was the Perkins P6 6 cylinder diesel engine sold all over the world from the 30s to the 60s in various forms and most commonly found in Fordson Tractors. It started easily and ran well with good oil pressure.
Then there was the giant Century Revolving Field Alternator (4 wire) manufactured in the USA probably 1950s. Three phase. KVA 31.2. KW 25. Volts 230/400. Amps 45.1. RPM 1500.
There was also a fiendishly complicated looking electro-mechanical voltage regulator in poor condition
and a lot of ancient and unidentified wiring
Slightly ominously there was a 'spare' electronic regulator
and signs of attempted repairs
