Other than 'servicing' (i.e. cleaning the indoor units fans & filters and washing out the outdoor condenser & cleaning the fan impeller) there's been not a moments bother with ours - the parts, if needed, will be the generic ones used across a whole list of reboxed brand names - TCL seems to be the core manufacturer for them.do you think anyone would repair a electriq icool brand ? was a bit wary of going with a no name
If you want a branded system, with prices and parts cost to match, then Dakin are used more than other well known brands.
To be honest, next year will be the tenth year of operation for ours, which is about the minimum lifespan I expected for bargain basement units. I may well degas/regas them next spring but I'm not expecting to have to repair or replace anything. Previously I had a Mitsubishi dual split, I installed that in the early '90's in a previous house, that was pre-inverter days so was noticable on the electric bills - and you felt it kick in & out through the house walls! It's still in use to this day, If it was still my house, I'd have swapped it out years ago for a later inverter type though.
