Anyone got a Titan w&d vacuum? Cause I’m in the doghouse…..

I am decorating the downstairs hallway, have taken the old wallpaper off and wanted to sand the walls. I had a day off work to do it when wife and dogs weren’t about so sealed the 3 doorways off with taped plastic sheet and had my Titan vac in the kitchen, double length hose through the plastic sheet. Merrily sanding away most of day, wife comes home from home and goes ballistic, fine dust everywhere in kitchen, lounge, etc

I have the 30L wet and dry vac. Had it a year and use it without dust bag in garage or whatever. I thought I would use the paper dust bag supplied with it, as very fine dust. Well the paper bar was about 1/4 full with a split all the way down one side, so the dust was too fine for the round filter and blew out the exhaust.
So, eventually to my question, are all the titan bags **** or just this one, is there a better alternative, as I have more to do and slso use it to extract wood sanders too and would like to use a dust bag for that too.

I have never been able to filter a Wet & dry vac good.
I have tried every filter out there.
Invest in a few lengths of 2" pvc pipe, duck tape them together, and set the machine outside.
If you try to just use more hose, you may run out of suction/flow.

You've obviously never tried a Numatic vac.

Titan as in Screwfix? I use the cloth, reusable bag.

I have a titan wet and dry...its pathetic...it worked OK for the first few months, then we had the living room knocked back to brick and replastered and it was terrible for the dust in there...the wet side seemed to work OK, but as it was advertised as a workshop vac I tried to use it for some wood shavings and now it's whines like a dying rat as soon as its turned on...einhell looks to be the way forward.

One thing I will say about the titan is it does work better with the blue filter bag on it, or the foam filter for wet use...I suspect that is why mine is now dead as I removed the filter bag before taking it in the shed

I use the paper ones- ok whilst in the machine but beyond fragile when it comes to removing them. Interested in @ajlelectronics reusable one though..

A vacuum cleaner is one thing that's worth spending a bit more on, if you want dependable.

I've used the Einhell's in the past, & they did the job fine. Bloody noisy though. Since going with Numatic, I wouldn't have anything else now. They've finally added a M class vac to their range now too.

You referred to any wet/dry vac, & not specifically the one he mentioned. You altered the goalposts.

I might have to look into a numatic instead of einhell then, needing one for the shed to cope with small swarf/filings, grinding dust slag chippings etc. Titan is on its last legs and I'm hesitant to keep using it

That's why I bought that little green "Henry" pet vacuum, the other week, for the workshop. Horace, who I used to have in there, is one of the bigger models, but there's just not enough room for him in there now. He's coped with no end of stuff though. Sawdust & swarf etc., when I had him in the workshop. He got used for cleaning up all the mess in the flat when I had the fireplace opened up too, & he's still as sound as a pound. They're workhorses.

Have you considered a different wife?

I have used my Henry while chasing walls, sanding walls, woodwork, etc. Always used the paper bag and have sometimes managed to empty the bag and reuse. Highly recommended. Not what you asked but may help if you decide to replace your existing one.

Mentioning bags, that's another good point with them. Consumables, (bags, filters & such), are so readily available, & quite reasonably priced.

I have one and can confirm that the bags are absolutely dreadful. I’ve now resorted to reinforcing the places they usually tear with duct tape to try and prolong their life.

I have no problem with the vac itself, its been really good. For garage cleaning, cars, on powertools and just finished re-fitting the bathroom after completely gutting it. Used it loads on clearing that up. Used as a wet vac Ive cleaned drains, done loads to the heating system, etc, etc.
Its just this bag that split on first use.

My vacuum came supplied with it, although it was the 'M' class version.

This is the type of dust extraction fan I use in a hallway, open the door, sheet/tape up the rest of the opening and turn it on....blow the dust outside.... .....
