To be honest you can apply dry or wet so that should not matter. It will depend on what quality vinyl you are using, but to be honest on glass anything should stick. Where I think your problem is might be the cheaper vinyl is not actually forming. I guess you are not using a hot air gun when fitting. This would allow some deformation. What might be happening is the vinyl is cheap chinese and is actually brittle not stretchy.

Thats what mirrors are for lolTell me have you had the windscreen heater on since they was stuck down?
Isn't it illegal to obstruct the rear window?

yes have had the heated screen on, no problems there, and yes it is vinyl, was advertised as sign quality, came from somewhere in Britain.
it is quite thin and very flexible, but I am not using hot air to apply it as my only source of hot air is a propane torch...cant see that going well to be honest lol.

Its hard to see in photos but that vinyl looks fairly think. It might take a hot air gun to fit it! There are two main types cast and calendared.

no, which is why not all cars come fitted with rear wipers, and vans come with solid rear doors. plus I can still see a lot through the screen, and have reversing sensors (which I hate, with a passion)

nooooo you end up with no glassYeah I can see a propane torch is not a good idea. lol a hair dryer will suffice. If its flexible its likely to be better vinyl. If it was cheap it wont be. Buying in GB does not mean its not chinese though
A lot of vinyl is actually quite thin but its the stretchability than dictates its quality. If it stretches and goes white its cheap.

Obviously you have to be sensible you are not trying to fry it just make it malleable.

Oh I'm just wondering if the heater might be making it hot,hence the peeling? but the reality is that the window has to be squeaky clean for them to adhere.

the problem is though the glass will take the heat out of it so people will put more into it

right, stretched some of it, it doesn't go white, stays the same colour. had a look on the back and found the brand printed on it
it says 'RitRAMA' and 'Rit-MARK series L & M' if that means anything to anyone. it doesn't stretch very far in one pull before it snaps, but if its worked gently it expands quite a lot

I used glass cleaner earlier, as the only thing I have that is stronger is petrol, but it has 2 stroke in it so thought id give that a miss
