Anyone even tried Mig welding a bandsaw blade back together?

Anealing means heating to Cherry Red and then cooling down as slow as possible right? Maybe cooling slowly in sand?

Thinking on about this thread and this morning finding the jig I've made . I wonder..... If the bottom of the jig was a slide in /removable lump of thick brass on a simple set of slide in out shoulders it would act as a heat sink when tigging the blade in the clamped position. Remove the block by pulling it forward out of the jig leaving the newly tigged blade clamped undisturbed in the jig then use one of the cheap very hot flame windproof gas lighters to heat the blade from underneath in the gap where the brass heatsink was , letting it go cold before removing to grind it flat .

This could be one of my winter projects once the garden & lawns have been put to bed for the year . For I'll have to cast the removable block in brass first then try to tidy it up on my lathe & home made milling vice ( not the most accurate bits of kit but it is useable )

Decide :- ........is it bright cherry ( on the left) or dark Morello cherry on the right ... Personally I'd aim for the second in from the right for most steel & brass annealing as it is just a few degree past black hot so less chance of burning the steel .

So I guess 600C would be ok?
I have mig welded one a while ago and need to grind and aneal it still.
