Hi, did you ever get an outcome with the watch ? I am only asking as I looked up this thread to find the details of the watch specialists in Eldon Gardens.

I took it through to Carlisle and the expert had not turned in that day, came home put it back in the cupboard and not done anything since.

I actually saw it yesterday and thought I need to get that sorted, will probably rearrange a visit.

That's a coincidence, I think the same about some of the farcebook type one's I have to read

Waste a bit more life and watch (pun not intended) this space, it's probably a long lost rare Rolex that once belonged to Elvis and worth zillions

Update:

Finally found someone to check the watch out, he works for an auction house as a valuer and apparently is the 'go to' guy for anything Rolex, he checks they are genuine before being allowed through the auction house.

So handed it in at reception, after the girls drooled over it and tried it on for 5 mins he got to work, came back with they would be delighted to put it into the next relevant sale and it should sell in the region of a very nice amount of ££££'s less 10% commission.

Told them I would think about it, not sure what I plan to do yet and I never rush decisions.

DON'T errrrr a new mig, Harrison lathe, king size roller cab and and... actually I am not even thinking of such things

much as I like my tools / workshop, I'd keep it, a solid investment and you'll not lose out on it.

With the rubbish interest rates that thought had also crossed my mind, not sure which Rolex models increase in value and if this is one of them, more research to do I think.

don't think any of them really depreciate, obviously some will gain more than others depending on exclusivity / demand etc but I remember that the ladies ones were more expensive at the time. would imagine that's still the same now.

I agree, hang on to it, you wont loose money....they appreciate.
