Funnily enough, there are a few die-hards who insist on wet film rather than digital... such as the Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight. The Lanc, Spits, Hurris etc. fall within the remit of the RAF's regional NDT team who, for the operational aircraft, have switched to digital rads. This means that there's nothing in the budget for film and chemicals or having the film processors serviced (and it'll only be a matter of time before they all get scrapped).
BBMF rings up and demands a weekend's worth of films on the Lanc, the RAF guys scratch their heads and start looking in dark cupboards for stock...

I used to run an antique shop, so will rush to be deeply offended when one of you creeps refers to it as a bric-a-brac place. Which it sort of was....
Anyway, recently we had a sort out of all the passed down bits of silver that were bent, bust, or just plain ugly to look at. Sent the junk off to a Birmingham place that buys 'scrap'. The cheque for £3.5K was a pleasant surprise.. Though he did remark that the salt cellers were not as heavy as expected, since they were full of encrusted salt.. Fine, I said, you can use it on your sandwiches. He did have a sense of humour.

In each group of silversmiths, the space around each work place is carefully marked out and their aprons and 'their' floor are cleaned seperately with booty saved for them.
Interestingly, in Germany, you have to submit your masterpiece to the guild and have it approved, otherwise you cannot call yourself a silversmith or sell 'silver' goods. Way back I employed a young lass to do some fine brazing (Think Heidi in the beer keller, and you can see her,holding four steins in each hand in front of her generous 'frontage',, you perverts..) She had done all the courses, but not the masterpiece, so could only sell through another person who was approved.

You weren't married to Margret X-Ray were you?
I have known her since 1964 and I haven't a clue what her last name is.

I am not sure there was a recovery unit at all before the developing machine. The dark rooms were just small tiled rooms
with a few big ceramic sinks. The chemicals were in metal tanks you put the film in a rack and dunked it in the tanks in
order, 4 tanks and then wash and hang the film up.

Not married to Margaret Xray, Although the first brides middle name was margaret,. I remember a new automatic system being installed, Did away with tanks and developed the films in 90 seconds,
