Deodorant??

I tend to agree....i was not going to hide it but take it back to steel and plastic and belt and braces. This was around dinnertime.
Later in the afternoon as i read the top of the filler can i could see why a mistake was made...just the way it was written.
I sent him home to rest and carried on myself.
Its not perfect but it will be fine as his mate has no car but starts a job monday.
Just need to laquer 1 wing in the morning. I ran out of space...lol i know its not preffered but it will be good enough.
That is some serious orange peel....
But it does not look like a clear coat.........Is this picture the basecoat flashing off?

no heat doesnt replace hardner , if it hasnt been mixed properly theres a good chance it will never go off ...are you sure its the correct hardner for the primer

The filler / paint will behave like putty with insufficient hardener. It will also trap the solvents which is where your reaction came from.
Rip it off and start again when the weather improves. Go easy on the base coat too, many mist coats will be better than heavy coats particularly when metallics are involved otherwise you end up with "tiger" stripes where the particles all settle into the depths of the wet paint.

No thats after a clear coat. The gun was chucking paint out like it was going out of fashion but at this stage I just want paint on it!...lol I did not have the inclination or mental strength to mess with gun settings that late at night!That is some serious orange peel....

Not in any noticeable effect, it is relying upon the chemical reaction between paint&hardener.
Yeah i wondered if the hardner was like an activator or just speeded up the drying process.
I got the final clear coat on the 2nd wing 5 mins ago so it can all go back on the car and wont rust.. wont win any concourse displays but after my assault and the setbacks we have had i just need a break....

I am sure that after a few miles it will be just as caked in salt as the rest of the car and no one will notice.
If need be you can always sort it out in the spring when the weather is not against you.

If you need to work fast you can add a tiny splash of Rocket https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/201538823050 (other types available)
You literally just want a splash or it will set hard in the gun within half hour.
I have used it on production jobs when time deadlines are tight, some people say it can have a slight effect on gloss levels but it's not anything I have ever experienced.

yes ,good stuff used to use it all the time ,but you had to be quick, have had a 3/4 pot full go off on me , bitch to clean out after.

Yes mate using lynx or the equivalent cheap spray can stuff can mess around with your paint
The paint shop I worked in had a rule about roll on deodorant only
Is that just wearing it or using it in the vicinity?

Wearing it, it’s due to the silicone that’s present in it
As I said we had never had a reaction from contamination only a random spider or fly once in a while

I think it's stops the Paint flowing out if you use to much rocket and you the gloss isn't as good
