Turns out it has ABS, stability control and electronic suspension - none of which were mentioned in the advert!

Seller was a retired BMW Motorad technician, full service history, last 2 by him, new front tyre, new battery and wheels relaced on stainless spokes. Came with a pile of reciepts. BMW top box too:

I'm told a popular scam in the motor trade was (maybe still is) to buy a crashed car in the UK at auction, repair it and then re-register it in NI, at which point it lost its insurance history. Then you'd 'bring it back over' and sell it on.

...and I notice that my 'reaction score' is only 4 points different from my number of postings... not sure if that's a good thing or not.

Never heard of "reaction score" before but I note the difference in mine is a thousand times more than yours.

Looks it, I suspect if he had listed all the options fitted and had better photo's it would have been beyond my budget. The owner in his 70's does not do the internet, so his son did the advert for him.

@Rannsachair youve got a secretly stonking good underrated bike there that does everything extremely well BUT for me although it was one of my main well researched choices it’s a little too tall even on a lower seat so I chose the 9T and made it practical. The R1200R forum is also fantastic with ****loads of info on all models

Was c -10 > -12 oC here overnight, hasn't reached above freezing all day.
Helped start a neighbour's car which has been sitting for a few days, battery like a

, only not as useful.

I used my Banggood battery starter pack [by Blitzwolf] and it did the job splendidly - saved a few lives with it in the last couple of years. Similar to this, their current offering

Haha. I've paid my dues. Many moons ago I lived in Hamburg for a while, on -12 mornings I couldn't start my old Bonnie, the oil was too thick to kick it over. If I managed to get it going the guy at the wine cellar where I worked would sit me down on arrival with a glass of schnapps!

I used to ride all year round in Scotland, at times could hardly operate my hands for the cold and wearing an open face helmet as full face used to freeze up my jaw used to freeze and I could not speak, even using a face mask. Never thought of windchill then. The new bike has hand guards and heated grips: so luxury for me.

It’s amazing the daftness of youth

I fixed a fuel pump on a bike me and my mate went halves on

Cbr125r with 1500 miles from new(65 plate) it’s seriously mint but the fuel pump gave up. Odd for a Honda

We were both talking about riding in the snow when we were riding big cc bikes and never thought anything different
I love the heater in my car nowadays

Yeah like it and nearly bought one myself last year but the ‘classic’ version.
I opted for a R nineT instead and fitted proper luggage, did a big proportion of Scotland in may too with a group. Looks like an Alan Jeffries bike?

Think I like having most tools to service a bike or change tyres in the toolkit. Never broken down on my 72 BMW, and it has the most comprehensive toolkit.

No, I meant the opposite: the toolkit was for maintenance and not really needed at the side of the road. Though I will make or buy every tool needed for servicing it. Hate bodging and taking longer without the right tools.
