try wiring your own extension and then get building controll to pass the whole job off and they wontThe only way for completing work to a competent standard as a business is to be registered...
You are still free to undertake work in your own home yourself as long as you work to the required specs...
outside power .kitchens . and bathrooms other than that u can conect to existing circuits but if u arent getting anything done with building controll sticking there nose in just do it yourself as long as the jobs up 2 the mark . even if u sell your house they dont generaly want to see any paperwork on the wiring as long as it looks new ish and now hips has gone the journey its a free handyou may do a certain (very) limited amount of work, but not in a "special location"... ie anywhere where there is water or outside
an rccbo is a residual current circuit device with built in mcb in laymans terms an earth leakage tripswitch with built in fuse. either 6 amp 16 amp 20 amp 30 amp ector do u mean an rccd main switch in cu
use either a 22mm conduit through metal box or a square 3x3 metal box put the gland on and take the 3 cores strait through into plastic consumer unit. metal box wants an earth link putting in and keep box close up 2 the fuseboard with none of the inner cores showingMorning all,
So I've been looking at what I need to buy and I think I've found the components I need to do the job.
Garage Consumer Unit:

The 32A MCB for the existing fuse box:

So once I've got my SWA and a few glands and metal boxes I think I can get on with getting it installed.
I think I read somewhere that you can terminate the SWA into a metal box but bring the cores through the box and into your CU. Does this sound feasible?
Cheers
