Friend of mine had his Mini done by them, he was told they spent 30K on it.

I can believe that. Quite often by the time they've bought the panels and a new engine, suspension, interior etc., it's 90% new parts and a better car than when it left the factory. I do like Fuzz though, he seems a genuine guy. Tim's knowledgeable but the supposedly humorous shenanigans get tiresome after a bit. I was a bit miffed when it moved to National Geographic but they come round on ordinary TV eventually.

I did watch all the Rust Valley Restorations on Netflix - that's OK. A bit of manufactured drama but bearable. Currently watching Rust to Riches, also Netflix, with the staff of Gotham Garage - it's OK, but the projects are a bit of an acquired taste and too niche.

Worst show has to be that one with Bernie and the American guy. 90% made up cr*p, manufactured accidents, fake traumas, and 10% of time on the cars. Awful show.

Wish someone would give Edd China a decent show.

I have a friend in Utah who has an equally obsessive interest in Chevy Corvettes. I think he must have about 30 of them by now. At least they're all kept indoors.

I don't really bother with the british car shows anymore, the american custom stuff is ok on a friday night after a few beers as long as you take them for the entertainment shows that they are.You need to balance the drama with the technical stuff or they become bland and boring.

Flipping Bangers is a decent British car show. Hope they make another series, it's watchable as the guys are down to earth and don't manufacture dramas or act prima donna like. They buy bottom of the range vehicles and turn them around in a week - things are done on a budget and some cars are clearly only going to live for another few years rather than the standard nut and bolt restoration jobs everyone else does.

30k bills where I work is not uncommon for restorations of Mini's. 400-500 hours of work at £50 an hour it soon racks up

Aye, a couple of episodes. Lost interest when I saw the quality of some of the workmanship - the kind of stuff even I wouldn't be happy to produce. [like some of Fuzz Townsend's stuff - apologies to those who like him]

I don't mind Vintage Voltage. Only seen a few though. It is quite samey - basically doing the same conversion. I do find it a bit hard to stomach spending £30k taking a decent classic and ripping the guts out though.

Another tip for one to watch is Retropower on YouTube. Think of it a bit like Kindigit but in Leicestershire! Quite a few quality full rebuilds with a lot of custom fab.
