Hi all
Have been thinking about having some railings atop an existing wall and a sliding gate on to my drive. Had quotes from a couple of local companies & was quite taken back at the prices (c. £4.5k).
I can buy all of the materials from an online supplier for around £600...the problem is sticking them all together.
I've done 'a bit' of mig welding in the past but only in fits and starts. Would a cheap gasless set be suitable? For the most part I'd be welding 12mm bar to 8mm thick plate (the plate already has 12.5mm holds in), then a few reinforcements and decorative bits. All mild steel.
Alternative I guess would be to dry build everything up then get a mobile welder in for a day.
Thanks in advance.
